Resolution Copper sustainable development report

Resolution Copper released its Sustainable Development Report for 2008 with a list of successes and challenges.

Among the accomplishments are:
  • Rehabilitation progressed on Superior-area site affected by previous mining operations. Expended another $10.2 million on these efforts in 2008. Total expenditures will exceed $50 million. [right, voluntary clean-up efforts at the Superior site. Credit, Resolution Copper]
  • Completed construction of a water treatment facility to treat groundwater removed from a previous mine shaft for discharge once it is pumped to the surface. Water will be reused for irrigation to benefit Arizona agriculture.
The company says its highest priority for 2009 is approval of the proposed federal land exchange legislation, known as the Southeast Arizona Land Exchange and Conservation Act.
