Magnitude 3.7 quake near Theodore Roosevelt Lake

There was a magnitude 3.7 earthquake, near the northeast end of Theodore Roosevelt Lake midway between Globe and Payson or about 50 miles northeast of Mesa. The event occurred last Friday, at 3:30 am local time.

I'm looking for more info on whether it was felt, etc.

Is it possible that there was another one around 9PM felt in Surprise. Was in the car and it started shaking. It was pretty strange.

  2. There have been no quakes reported anywhere in the area for the past week. My favorite site to keep track of quake activity is http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/

The networks should pick up any quake capable of being felt, so I suspect your car shaking is due to something besides an earthquake.

It's been bugging me too. I live in western AZ near the CA border. Here is data from 15 of the nearest seismograph stations of the Roosevelt Lake quake. I wrote to NAU asking if it was a glitch or a landslide or something and they did confirm a quake and they are studying it. No news in the media though. It's very odd no one felt it. Even though it was 3:30 in the morning, there are enough people in the immediate area to get woken up by it.

If this is what you mean by networks, yes, they did pick it up.
