Small quake near Fredonia; probably not the end of the world

A magnitude 1.2 earthquake was recorded about 7 miles NNE of Fredonia, Arizona, just after 2 am local time on the 17th.  [Right, star marks epicenter.  Red lines are active faults. Credit, USGS]

In my humble opinion, this is not a precursor of the Mayan calendar apocalypse predicted by doomsayers for this coming Saturday.

We're going ahead with holiday plans on Sunday.
